Geoff Simons owned and operated his own company in Canada which specialized in custom building furniture and antique restoration. His company was chosen to renovate the furniture in a suite at the Four Seasons to be occupied by Prince Charles during his stay in Calgary as parade Marshall for the Calgary Stampede in the early 1980's. He also did work for the Glenbow Museum repairing and restoring many of the antique pieces. Geoff's work can be seen at the prestigious Banff Springs Hotel, Château Lake Louise, Jasper Park Lodge, and the Emerald Lake Lodge. While working on a major renovation project at Château Lake Louise, he worked on the suite of furniture used by the Queen of Denmark on her visit to Canada. Geoff's commitment to high quality workmanship as well as his conscientious attention to customer service earned him an excellent reputation and a loyal clientèle following over the years.
Geoff, a resident of Mazatlan for 15 years, had given a great deal of thought to opening a similar business in town that would provide the same high-quality craftsmanship, customer service and attention to detail to the residents of Mazatlan. After a lot of research and inquiries, a friend introduced him to Juan Carlos Valdez, who owned a small cabinet shop in Mazatlan. After many meetings and discussions they realized they shared the same goals and ideas, so together they formed a business partnership and Victoria Furniture was launched.
